Looks like we have finally spotted the flagship Exynos chipset for the Galaxy S21 series for the first time ever through Benchmark listing. Anyway, previously Samsung and AMD announced the partnership in early 2019 but will not announce their first product until 2021.
Now with no leaks or info about the next big Exynos chipset, we have probably got the first-ever leak revealing the most powerful chipset made by AMD. As per the source, AMD is developing a custom GPU for the upcoming Samsung 5nm based processor. The listing reveals that the alleged Exynos 1000 series will be based on the new AMD RDNA architecture.
As per the GFXBench listing, the new Exynos 1000 series scores outperform in terms of performance when compared with current SD865 SoC. Yes, the custom AMD GPU scores 181.8 frames in the Manhattan 3.1 test which is 13% higher than the Adreno 680 GPU of SD865 SoC. The new chipset also scored 138.25 and 58 frames in Aztec Normal and Aztec High testing which easily hits the SD865 SoC in terms of performance.
Anyway, currently, Samsung will launch the new Exynos 992 SoC with 6nm process that will power the Galaxy Note 20 series but will retain the Mali GPU. With ending of Exynos 900 series we could expect Samsung to start the Exynos 1000 series later next year.
