Microsoft showed the first dual-screen foldable device last year with the new Microsoft Surface Duo. Sadly, Microsoft didn’t reveal anything about the device apart from some of the features. Microsoft also announced that the Microsoft Surface Duo might go official by end of this year. Now one of the sources has just got their hands on the Microsoft Surface Duo which revealed the specs of the device.
As per the source, the Microsoft Surface Duo will measure 4.8 mm thick when open and 9.6mm when closed. It sports 5.6 inches AMOLED dual display with a resolution of 1800x1350p. The Microsoft Surface Duo becomes the first device to run on Android OS with Android 10 which might be updated to Android 11.
The Microsoft Surface Duo is powered by outdated SD855 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The device was designed earlier than the SD865 SoC hence the company might launch with outdated SD855 SoC. The Microsoft Surface Duo comes with a single camera with 11 MP having an aperture of f/2.0 which is kind of odd.
The device does come with the fingerprint scanner and will pack lower 3460 mAh battery. Again the battery is very small to last for a single working day which is disappointing. Anyway, the Microsoft Surface Duo will not have support for NFC and 5G too.
Microsoft had customised its UI such a way that one can use both the screen at once by simply drag and drop of apps which aren’t compatible with third-party apps at the moment. The Microsoft Surface Duo might hit the stores by end of this year and not earlier than that.
