LG Velvet

LG has finally launched the new LG Velvet in South Korea today. The new LG Velvet is the next mid-range flagship from the company which comes with 5G support. After ditching the G-series LG has now replaced the same with new LG Velvet series. Sadly, there are no details about Indian launch and availability for the new LG Velvet.

As per the press release, the new LG Velvet will arrive with a larger 6.8 inches FHD+ FullView OLED Display with an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. It again uses the same waterdrop notch with thinner bezels. Above the display, there is earpiece which also doubles up as stereo speaker than comes with AI Sound support. The new AI Sound automatically balances the sound volume based on content used like gaming, playing video or listening to music.

The LG Velvet will arrive with 48MP main sensor using pixel binning tech coupled with 8MP Ultra-wide angle lens and 5MP depth sensor with LED flash. It also gets new ASMR tech which combines two mics to record vivid sound. The LG Velvet ships with SD765G SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The new LG Velvet weighs 180g.

All this is packed by 4300 mAh battery with 18W fast wired and wireless charging support. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, Dual Band Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C port, in-display fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm audio jack and Bluetooth 5.0 support. It also comes with an IP68 rating making it dust and water-resistant along with MILSTD 810G standards.

The new LG Velvet measures 7.9 mm thick and arrives in Aurora Gray, Aurora White, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset colours. The LG Velvet will also have support for Wacom Stylus and LG Dual screen which will be sold separately. The new LG Velvet comes with a price tag of 899,800 won (Rs.55,850/-) in Seoul. The new LG Velvet will go on sale from May 15.
