Previously we saw Reliance Jio breaking the free unlimited calls to other networks and introducing the 6p/min model for outgoing calls to other networks. Now Airtel & Vodafone-Idea Cellular has followed the same and introduces the 6p/min to its plans.
The new tariff will go live from Dec 3 for both Airtel & Vodafone-Idea Cellular customers. The new tariff will raise the price from 50p/day to Rs.2.85/day. Further both Airtel & Vodafone-Idea Cellular provides unlimited free calls to its own network users and FUP of 6p/min to other networks. Do note that Airtel to Airtel or Vodafone-Idea to Vodafone-Idea calls are free.
Now the base tariff pack is of Rs.49/- which offers Rs.38.5/- free Talktime along with 100MB 4G data which is valid for 28 days. Previously the same pack use to cost Rs.35 and offer Rs.26/- talk time. The next pack is of Rs.79/- which offers Rs.64 Talktime and 200MB 4G data with 1p/sec to other networks and validity of 28 days. Both the plans are applicable to Airtel & Vodafone-Idea Cellular.
The cheapest plan is of Rs.19 with unlimited calls,150 MB data, 100 SMS, 2 days validity. Further, the unlimited packs of 28 days include Rs.149 with 2GB data, 300 SMS along with unlimited calling and 1000 min FUP to other networks, Rs.249/- 1.5GB/day, 100 SMS/day, unlimited calling and 1000 min FUP to other networks, the next pack is of Rs.298 which comes with 2GB/day.
The next set of packs are for 84 days which also bundles with FUP of 3000 mins for off-net & unlimited on-net calls. The cheapest plan cost Rs.379 with 2GB data and 300 SMS, the next with Rs.599/- with 1.5GB/day and 100 SMS/day, lastly with 2GB/day and 100 SMS/day with Rs.699 pack.
The long-term packs include FUP of 12000 mins for off-net & unlimited on-net calls which include Rs.1499/- with 24GB 4G data and 3600 SMS the other pack is of Rs.2399 with 1.5GB data per day and 100 SMS/day. Both the pack comes with a validity of 365 days. The FUP mentioned are for the Vodafone-Idea only and Airtel is yet to reveal the details of FUP but all the plans remain the same.
Further, Jio has just officially revealed that they are also going to hike the tariff further by 40%. Yes, this the second time increase in tariff after the IUC charges of 6p/min. As per the company, they will hike the 40% but come with up to 300% more benefits.
Jio new All-in-one plans with unlimited voice and data will have a fair usage policy for calls to other mobile networks. The company also revealed that the new plans will come in effect from Dec 6 and we are yet to receive the new plans. The company also reveals that all-in-one plans will offer 2GB/day along with unlimited voice, SMS, Apps as well as free additional 1000 minutes of off-net IUC calling to additional operators worth Rs. 80.
