Earlier we saw various leaks about Qualcomm and MediaTek planning to introduce the 5G chipsets under the mid-range smartphones. We even got few leaks revealing the SD7250 SoC is currently under testing by brands like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
Apart from Qualcomm, MediaTek and Samsung are also planning to introduce the mid-range chipset with 5G support with Exynos 980 & MT6885 SoC. Now we have few reports which claim that the Qualcomm upcoming SD7250 SoC will cost $60-$70 in the US whereas the MediaTek MT6885 SoC will cost anywhere between $40-$50.
The report also reveals that both the chipset will come with Dual-mode 5G support. So this indirectly means one has to shell out more to buy your first 5G mid-range smartphone as the SoC’s are priced too high.
