Honor the sub-brand of Huawei has recently started testing out the beta update of the custom skin EMUI 10. Now there is bad news for some users who use this device which Honor has officially confirmed will not receive the update.
As per the tweet, one of the Honor users had asked whether the Honor Play will ever get the new Android Q based EMUI 10 update. To this Honor India replied stating that the Honor Play will not get the Android 10 based EMUI 10 update due to “hardware limitations” and requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance.
So this is disappointing as Honor Play uses the same chipset as the Huawei P20 & Huawei P20 Pro which will receive the update in coming months. This is big let down for those who own the Honor Play which is the company’s popular smartphone in India. Anyway, further, the company has confirmed that mid-range smartphone Honor 8X will receive the EMUI 10 update.
