Earlier we saw few rumours doing rounds about the 5G smartphone from Redmi will cost lesser than other smartphones. Later at IFA Qualcomm has announced working on SD7 series chipset with 5G support with brands which also included the Xiaomi. Now Redmi CEO has just confirmed the news on Weibo post.
As per the source, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing has posted on Weibo that 5G has arrived. Don’t worry, Redmi K30 is already on the road. So indirectly he confirmed that the next smartphone with 5G support will not other than the Redmi K30. The announcement came just after Qualcomm announced the new SD 7xx series with 5G support.
Further, the Snapdragon 7 series 5G SoC is scheduled for 2020 launch and we expect the Redmi K30 might launch next year if at all it uses the same. Qualcomm has also announced the Snapdragon 8 series 5G chipset too which will be available by late 2019 so we can expect Redmi K30 might us the same instead of SD 7xx series.
Further, one of the Xiaomi fans also asked will the new Redmi K30 cost under 2000 Yuan to which Lu Weibing replied that 5G chipset is still expensive. So indirectly Redmi confirms that the new Redmi K30 will not be that cheap at all and would cost above 2000 Yuan (Rs.21000/-) in China.
