Earlier we had few rumours about Google planning to launch the stable version of the next iteration of Android with Android 10 on Sept 3. Now that turns out to be true as Google officially announced the stable version of Android 10 today.

The new Android 10 OS is the first version of Android not named after any kind of dessert and will be called just Android 10. The new Android 10  brings the much-needed system-wide Dark Theme aka Dark mode to Android users. Apart from that, it also adds the navigation gestures which are based on swipe that was missing on the Android 9 Pie.

Further, Smart Reply not gets smarter as it will start giving suggestion right on the navigation panel if someone sends you an address it will directly give out the option to open it on maps etc. Further, the Smart Reply will work on any messaging app.

Google also added a new feature called Live Caption which provides caption on any video, audio message or podcast from any app or even one which is recorded by you. The Live Caption will be released this fall. Google has also improved the Privacy option on Android 10 by adding a new option to share the location only while using the app under the Web & App Activity and Ad Settings in settings panel.

Android 10 will also bring the much-awaited Project Mainline. The Project Mainline is a feature which will offer regular monthly security patch update directly on the Google Play Store. So finally we will get the update without any delay and can be updated similar to updating an app.

Further, Notification that is marked silent will not pop-up on the screen nor make any noise. Android 10 also gets Family Link under the Digital Wellbeing panel called Focus Mode. Google is now rolling out the Android 10 update to Pixel devices right from Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL.

Further, Xiaomi has also started rolling out the Android 10 update to Redmi K20 Pro right from today for both Chinese and Indian users. The Android 10 update will be based on MIUI 10 as MIUI 11 still under development. One can manually download the Android 10 update which weighs around 2.4 GB in size.
