Earlier we had several leaks and rumours suggesting that Apple working on the in-display fingerprint scanner for 2020 iPhones. We also got report claiming that Apple moving to OLED displays for all of its iPhones from next year. Now we have new reports claiming that Apple might launch the first in-display TouchID sensor iPhone this year itself.
According to the reports, Apple is planning to introduce a special version of the iPhone with in-display fingerprint scanner exclusive to China. Yes, you heard it right only to China and no other countries even the US. This is probably the first time ever Apple is considering launch an exclusive iPhone model specifically for Chinese users this year.
Further, the reports claim that Apple is working on the budget iPhone with an in-display fingerprint scanner which indirectly suggests the alleged iPhone XR 2 or the iPhone XIR. The reports also suggest it would ditch the 3D Facial recognition and replace with cheaper in-display Touch ID. The report claims that the in-display fingerprint scanner is way cheaper than the 3D camera for Face ID.
