After a series of renders leaked for the upcoming iPhone XI, we now have got some more details leaked from Apple Supply Chain in China. As per the source, the upcoming 2019 & 2020 iPhone will have major changes in antenna design due to change of suppliers and technology.
Earlier devices aka iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR antenna were built on LCP process which had problems for high-frequency cellular transmission. Now Apple had made new modified PI-structure last year which has been implemented to this year and future iPhones. The new modified PI-structure will bring the same performance as the LCP structure over the 4G networks.
Further, the new antenna will increase the cost by 10-12% when compared with previous iPhones but will also improve the indoor navigation. Further, the source also claims that this year too Apple sales will remain flat and will launch the first 5G iPhone not earlier than 2020 with same LCP antenna.
