Earlier we saw various concept renders showing the new Xiaomi Mi 9 which is rumored to have dewdrop display. We also got various leaks which revealed that the new Xiaomi Mi 9 will launch on Feb 19 in China.
Now Xiaomi Mi 6 designer aka Mi Liu just shared the concept renders of the new Xiaomi Mi 9 on Weibo. As per the renders, the new Xiaomi Mi 9 will indeed feature shorter notch which carries the earpiece, sensor and selfie camera.
On the back, we have triple rear cameras aligned vertically with Dual LED flash. The new Xiaomi Mi 9 will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and is expected to be powered by SD855 SoC. Anyway, the new renders of Xiaomi Mi 9 look similar to Mi 8 in terms of design and will arrive with glass back.
Further, Xiaomi has now filed patents with WIPO for the new phone with four-sided curved edges. Earlier we saw Samsung launching the dual-sided edge display with Galaxy S9 series which made a trend in the smartphone industry. Now Xiaomi is planning to launch a device with a curved display on all the four edges.
As per the patents, we can see the new Xiaomi phone with all-display front without any notch nor hole but comes with all 4 sided curved edges. On the back, we have got the Dual rear cameras with LED flash. We can expect the smartphone might feature pop-up selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner.
The device doesn’t come with any buttons but features USB Type-C port at the bottom. So looks like after Meizu and Vivo we have another buttonless smartphone in works by Xiaomi. Apart from this, nothing much about the device is leaked.
