OnePlus finally takes off the curtain from the new special edition aka OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition in London. The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has special McLaren logo on the back along with a new design that is the differentiating factor with original OnePlus 6T. The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is priced at £649 in London (Rs.58,855/-) which makes the costliest OnePlus smartphone till date. The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition goes on sale from Dec 13 in Western Europe and North America.
The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with all new design with Orange Papaya lining on the sides and comes with a carbon fiber back which is designed by McLaren to give it a premium feel along with the illuminating and disappearing McLaren Logo. Further, the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with new Warp Charge 30 fast charger which can charge up to 50% in 20 mins which can last for a day as per the company.
Apart from this, the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with same 6.41 inches FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 having a resolution of 2340*1080p but comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on top for protection.
The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition ships with the same SD845 SoC coupled with whopping 10GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Apart from this, all other specs remain the same as the Original OnePlus 6T.The OnePlus 6T features the same set of Dual rear cameras with a 16MP Primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, 1/2.6″ Sony IMX519 sensor, 1.22μm pixel size and 20MP secondary (Telephoto lens 2X zoom) Sony IMX376K sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, 1.0μm pixel size, OIS, EIS, and Dual LED flash.
It can shoot slo-mo 720p videos @480fps, 1080p @240fps, and shoot 4K videos @60fps. It features same 16MP selfie Sony IMX371 sensor having an aperture of f/2.0 and 1.0μm pixel size. The new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition adds a new mode on the camera app with Nightscape mode which produces great images with less noise under low-light condition. It also comes with Face unlock feature via selfie camera.
The most important feature of the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is with the in-display fingerprint scanner aka the Screen Unlock which we saw on various Oppo and Vivo smartphones in the past. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G and VoLTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Band Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C port and sadly no 3.5 mm audio port on the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. The device does come with Dirac HD sound on the bottom firing speakers. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with larger 3700 mAh battery when compared with OnePlus 6 with support for fast charging via Warp Charger. It runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with Oxygen OS 9.0 on top.
