Samsung is all set to join the Under display fingerprint scanner party with few Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi. Earlier we had few rumors about Samsung Galaxy S10 to be the first Samsung device to ship with the new Ultrasonic UD fingerprint scanner.
As per industry insiders, the Samsung has just given nod to Qualcomm for its new UD fingerprint scanner which will be used in mid-range to high-end smartphones with shipments from late 2018 and early 2019.
So finally we can see many brands launching the devices with UD fingerprint scanner by 2019 after OnePlus 6T, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Vivo NEX. We can expect the first smartphone with UD Fingerprint scanner by early 2019. Qualcomm has partnered with Samsung whereas Goodix has already started shipment to Chinese brands like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Vivo for the new UD fingerprint scanner.
