Nokia launched the Beta Labs which is nothing but pre-release of the original stable Android ROM which allows users to test the ROM before its official release so that they can fix the bugs and other issues. Earlier Nokia 7 Plus received the new Android 9 Pie update and now Nokia is planning to introduce to the new Nokia 6.1.
As per the tweet by Nokia 6.1 user who asked when will be the device updated to Android 9 Pie to which Nokia CFO Juho Sarvikas replied stating that they are going to skip the Beta Labs and will directly push out the stable Android 9 Pie update.
So this might be the first device to skip the Beta Labs as Nokia will always send all its devices to Beta Labs before the stable release. Sadly, we are still not sure about the exact date for the stable Android 9 Pie update. Anyway, Nokia had promised all of its devices will get the stable Android 9 Pie update so we have to wait when will Nokia fulfill its promise.
