LG has finally launched the second flagship of 2018 with LG V40 ThinQ in the US. The new LG V40 ThinQ is priced vary between $900-$980 based on Carriers. The new LG V40 ThinQ will go on sale from Oct 18 in the US and currently up on pre-orders. Sadly, there are no pricing details about the Unlocked model for LG V40 ThinQ. It will arrive in four colors with New Aurora Black, New Platinum Gray, New Moroccan Blue, and eye-catching Carmine Red.
The new LG V40 ThinQ comes with a similar design as the LG V35 series but with more premium materials for a smooth touch, unique color, and seamless form. It comes with matte glass on the back of the device which is higher resistance to fingerprints and stains. The LG V40 ThinQ is 7.7 mm thick and weighs around 169 grams. It has also passed through 14 MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test categories for suitability in military operations and is IP68 rated.
The new LG V40 ThinQ sports 6.4 inches QHD+ OLED FullVision Display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 having a resolution of 3120 x 1440p. It is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top along with HDR10 support. The new LG V40 ThinQ is powered by SD845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. It can be further expanded via microSD card slot.
The new LG V40 ThinQ features triple rear cameras which becomes the first LG smartphone with 3 rear cameras. The primary sensor is of 16MP which is the 107 degrees Super Wide angle sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and 1.0μm pixel size. The secondary camera is of 12MP Standard sensor with an aperture of f/1.5, 1.4μm pixel size and 78 degrees lens. The third sensor is a telephoto lens which is of 12MP having an aperture of f/2.4 and 1.0μm pixel size along with Dual Tone Dual LED flash, Dual PDAF, and Laser AF.
It also features a mode called Triple shot where one can use all three sensors to capture the perfect shot. LG V40 ThinQ also comes with CineShot mode which uses triple cameras to record video while capturing the image on the other side.
There are Dual selfie cameras with an 8MP standard sensor with an aperture of f/1.9, 1.12μm pixel size and 80 degrees depth of view along with 5MP 90 degrees Wide angle lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and 1.12μm pixel size.
The connectivity option includes Dual/Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also features dedicated 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and Boombox Speaker with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound support.
All this is fueled by 3300 mAh battery with QC 3.0 support and runs on Android 8.1 out of the box with LG custom skin on top.
