Xiaomi has finally launched the new Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro in India today. The Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro will be exclusive to Amazon whereas the Redmi 6 will be exclusive to Flipkart. The Redmi 6A with 2GB+16GB is priced at Rs.5999/- similar to predecessor and 2GB+32GB at Rs.6999/- and will go on sale from Sept 19 at 12 noon on both Amazon and Mi.com.
The Redmi 6 with 3GB+32GB is priced at Rs.7999/- similar to Redmi 6 and 3GB+64GB at Rs.9,499/- and will go on sale via Flipkart and Mi.com from 10 Sept at 12 noon with Flat 500/- off for HDFC Bank Debit/Credit card users.
Redmi 6 Pro with 3GB+32GB at Rs.10,999 and 4GB+64GB at Rs.12,999/- and will go on sale from 11 Sept via Amazon and Mi.com also comes with Flat 500/- off for HDFC Bank Debit/Credit card users.
Xiaomi Redmi 6:
The new Redmi 6 comes with traditional Xiaomi design but is made out of metal. It weighs 146 grams and is 8.3mm thick. The new Redmi 6 sport 5.45 inches HD+ 1440*720p display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The Redmi 6 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC clocked at 2 GHz coupled with 3GB RAM with 32GB/64GB internal storage options which can be expanded up to 128GB via dedicated microSD card slot.
It features 12MP+5MP dual rear camera with Dual LED flash, 1.25-micron pixel size, AI support and there is 5MP AI selfie camera with face unlocking feature. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and Dual VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2, Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, micro USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, fingerprint scanner and IR blaster.
All this is fueled by lower 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 with MIUI 9 on top.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A:
Xiaomi also launched the ultra-budget smartphone the Redmi 6A which is the successor to the last year launched Redmi 5A which is also known as the best selling smartphone of 2017 worldwide. The new Redmi 6A also comes with a similar design as the Redmi 6 and weighs 146 grams. It is 8.3mm thick.
The new Redmi 6A too sport same 5.45 inches HD+ 1440*720p display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 as the Redmi 6. The Redmi 6A is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio A22 SoC clocked at 2.0 GHz coupled with 2GB RAM with 16GB/32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256B via dedicated microSD card slot. The MediaTek A22 is built on the 12nm process and is the Redmi 6A becomes the first device to ship with the latest chipset.
Redmi 6A features 13MP single rear camera with LED flash, and AI support and there is 5MP AI selfie camera. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and Dual VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2, Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, micro USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and IR blaster.
All this is fueled by 3000 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 with MIUI 9 on top and will be updated to MIUI 10 later.
Redmi 6 Pro:
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro will come in five colors with Cherry Pink, Red, Gold, Blue and Black colors. The new Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes with Redmi Note 5 Pro like back but overall looks similar to iPhone X in terms of design. It is completely made out of metal unibody and features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It weighs around 178 grams and is 8.75 thick.
The new Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro sports 5.84 inches FHD+ bezel-less display with a notch having an aspect ratio of 19:9 and resolution of 2280*1080p with 84% NTSC color gamut. The new Redmi 6 Pro is powered by the same old SD625 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage which can be further expanded via dedicated microSD card slot up to 256GB.
Xiaomi has also added software feature to hide the display notch. The new Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro features Dual camera setup with the 12MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, 1.25-micron pixel, Dual LED flash, PDAF, AI Portrait, and capability to record video up to 1080 @30fps. It features 5MP selfie camera with AI support, and face unlocks.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, GLONASS, micro USB Port, 3.5 mm audio port, IR Blaster and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. All this is fueled by a larger 4000mAh battery and no fast charging support. The Redmi 6 Pro runs on Android 8.0 with MIUI 9.0 on top.
