OnePlus had still not removed the most popular 3.5 mm audio jack on any of the devices till date. But we now have sad news for OnePlus fans as the company is now planning to ditch the 3.5 mm audio jack for a better battery.
As per the TechRadar, none other than OnePlus CEO Carl Pei told that its time to say goodbye to the old jack which indirectly claims that OnePlus is looking to ditch the 3.5 mm audio jack on their next flagship.
Further, Carl states that the removal of the headphone jack will optimize the user experience on the OnePlus 6T and will get more space to add the new technology on the device which will improve the battery life issues of the device. We are still not sure how come ditching the 3.5 mm jack will increase the battery life of the device anyway, we can expect it to ship with larger battery capacity this time.
The company further claims that over 59% of the user globally has switched to wireless earphones earlier this year. So with this, we can expect the OnePlus 6T to come with USB Type-C dongle for audio jack and company might even introduce the USB Type-C version Bullets 2 earphones soon.
