Motorola earlier started updating the last year mid-range smartphone the Moto G5 Plus with Android Oreo update in India. Now the company has started pushing Android Oreo update to the Moto G5.
Moto G5 was launched with Android 7.0 and Lenovo owned Motorola has now provided the major update with Android 8.1 in India. Earlier Motorola was the fastest in providing the latest Android update for its devices but once the company was sold to Lenovo we barely saw any devices getting the latest security patch.
Anyway, Moto G5 new Android 8.1 update brings some standard Oreo features along with the latest August 2018 Android security patch. The update also fixes some of the bugs and brings several performance improvements.
As its an OTA update we would request users to keep patience as it might take some time to hit the update to your device. Do update the device through Wifi as the file size of the OTA update will be large.
