Qualcomm the favorite brand for smartphone manufacturers which had already captured most part of the mobile market with its great performance chipsets. Earlier we had few rumors about Qualcomm looking to rebrand its chipsets. Now. Qualcomm confirms that the SD855 SoC is ready and has reached smartphone manufacturers.
As per the source, the Qualcomm next flagship chipset the SD855 samples are already reached OEM’s and with this, we can expect smartphone manufacturers to begin testing their next flagship with the latest SD855 SoC.
Qualcomm also confirmed that the upcoming SD855 SoC will be the company’s first chipset to be built on 7nm. It will occupy less space, power efficient and will be more powerful than SD845 SoC. Sadly, we still not sure whether the SD855 SoC will arrive with Snapdragon X50 5G Modem, but the company confirmed that it is the first 5G-capable mobile platform for premium tier smartphones.
As per the source, the official name along with specs will be announced later this year and we can expect the first flagship smartphone by early 2019.
