Earlier we had seen numerous patents on the foldable display by many brands including Samsung and LG. Now we have new Dual display trend coming as two South Korean companies filed patent at USPTO.
As per the patents, both LG and Samsung are working on Dual display smartphone on both fronts as well as the back of the device. As per the patents, Samsung design looks more technologically advanced with no rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and might feature in-display fingerprint tech. The LG patent looks similar to Samsung but will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner just below the secondary display.
Samsung new dual display smartphone features a bezel-less display with almost no bezels on the sides which turns out to be fake as it is not the part of the patent whereas LG design looks realistic with thicker bezels covering the display. As per the source, both LG & Samsung will use at least one OLED panel for the upcoming Dual display smartphones.
So after YotaPhone and Meizu, we have Samsung and LG entering the dual display smartphone race.
