Microsoft Surface Book 2

Microsoft has finally launched the one-year-old Microsoft Surface Laptop in India along with the new Microsoft Surface Book 2. Both the devices will go on sale from today via all leading offline stores including Reliance Digital, Croma and Vijay Sales. The Microsoft Surface Laptop & Surface Book 2 will also available on online stores like Flipkart, Amazon and PayTM Mall.

Microsoft Surface Laptop:

Microsoft Surfaces series is basically a Hybrid which has a detachable screen and can work both as a laptop and tablet, but now with the new Microsoft Surface Laptop is no more Hybrid but a true laptop with the non-detachable screen.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop is having a 13.3-inch PixelSense display with touch and Stylus support and has a  resolution of  2,256 x 1,504 pixels with 3:2 screen ratio. The backlight Keyboard is covered with Alcantara a suede-like material. It will be available in 4 different color options with Platinum, Burgundy, Cobalt Blue & Graphite Gold. The laptops weigh around 1.25 Kg and are 14.5 mm thick.

The Surface Laptop promises to give a battery backup for up to 14.5 hours. The Surface chief Panos Panay says new Surface Laptop is faster than the MacBook Air. The surface laptop will run Windows 10S and will start from Rs.86,999/- for Intel i5 7th Gen, 8GB RAM, and 128 GB SSD, based on the configuration it goes up to 2,23,999/- for an Intel i7, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

Microsoft has managed to put a full-size USB 3.0 port on the Surface laptop. There is no USB Type-C connector. There is a proprietary surface port at the back.

Microsoft Surface Book 2:

Microsoft updates its Surface Book series with latest Surface Book 2 series which comes in two display sizes with 13.5 inches and 15 inches. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is the successor to 2015 launched Microsoft Surface Book.

The latest Microsoft Surface Book 2 is a Hybrid which can be used as laptop or tablet by detaching the screen from the keyboard. It is completely built out of Magnesium alloy and comes in two sizes one with 13.5 inches and other with 15 inches. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5 inches measures 12.3″*9.14″*0.9″ weighs 1.5 kg for i5 and 1.6 kg for i7 Processor and Microsoft Surface Book 2 15 inches measures 13.5″*9.87″*0.9″ and weighs 1.9 kg.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5″ comes with 13.5 inches Pixel Sense display having a resolution of 3000*2000 with a pixel density of 267ppi whereas the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15″ comes with 15 inches Pixel Sense display having a resolution of 3240*2160 with a pixel density of 260ppi.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5″ comes in two version one with 7th gen Intel Core i5 clocked at a max frequency of 3.5 GHz and other with 8th gen Intel Core i7 processors which can be clocked at a max frequency of 4.2 GHz.The Microsoft Surface Book 2 15″ also comes with 8th gen Intel Core i7 processors which can be clocked at a max frequency of 4.2 GHz.The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5″ is coupled with 8GB or 16GB RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB PCIe SSD. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 15″ is coupled with 16GB RAM and comes in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB PCIe SSD.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5″ is having Intel HD Graphics 620 on lower Core i5 version and NVIDIA GTX 1050 with 2GB DDR3 Graphics. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 15″ comes with NVIDIA GTX 1060 with 6GB DDR5 Graphics. The connectivity options on all three devices are 2*full size USB 3.1 port, 1*USB Type-C port, 2*surface connect port, Full sized microSD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack and compatible with Surface Dialer both on-screen and off-screen. Further connectivity option includes Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and Xbox Wireless built in only on 15″ version.
All the three devices come with 5MP selfie camera with Windows Hello feature for unlocking the device. It can record videos up to 1080p. The rear camera is of  8MP with a capability to record videos up to 1080p. It also has support for Dolby Atmos and also comes with front-firing Stereo Speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.
It also has support for VR and comes with Windows Mixed Reality which is developed by Microsoft. It also has support for S-Pen. As per Microsoft the Microsoft Surface Book 2 devices have a video playback time up to 17 hours on single charge. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 runs on Microsoft Windows 10 Pro with latest Windows 10 fall update.
