The new Canalys report is out with both Xiaomi and Samsung shipping 9.9 million smartphones in Q2 of 2018. Sadly the total shipment falls to 33 million this quarter. As per Canalys Samsung has shown a steady growth with a 47% increase this quarter when compared last 2.5 years.
With Samsung increase in sales, Xiaomi is still stable and has rarely seen any growth this quarter. Even with Samsung increase in sales Xiaomi Redmi 5A is still the popular smartphone and has managed to ship 3.3 million when compared with Samsung top-seller Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) which sold 2.2 million units in India.
As per Canalys, Xiaomi bad Supply Chain has made Samsung see huge growth in overall sales. So Xiaomi must work hard on Supply chain issues as if it continues then one fine day they will lose the market to Samsung.
The top four brands include the Xiaomi at number one position with Samsung next to it and Vivo takes the third spot whereas Oppo at the fourth position as per Canalys data. Apple has a bad time in India with a 50% drop in sales this quarter. Special mention ASUS has now managed to triple its mobile sales with Asus Zenfone Max M1 Pro.
