Earlier we had few rumors by popular analyst claiming that Apple will finally bring Dual SIM support to its 2018 iPhones. Today we have a new report by 21st Century Business Herald from China claiming that two out of three iPhone this year will have Dual SIM support.
As per the report, the 21st Century Business Herald claims that Apple will bring Dual SIM card slot to two out of three iPhones this year and only China will get Dual SIM card slot iPhone whereas other countries will come with one SIM card slot along with another e-SIM card (Virtual SIM) or Apple SIM which will combine the two SIM to get Dual Standby capabilities.
The virtual SIM feature was first added on the 2014 iPad Air 2 which makes one to virtually change the carrier depending upon plans it offers. Apple new e-SIM supports almost 180 countries but except China and India probably India might get the Dual SIM card slot variant of iPhone too.
With Dual SIM support we can expect a huge rise in sales as some Asian and African countries prefer Dual SIM functionality smartphones than single SIM one’s which will make Apple gain huge profits this fall. As per the report, Chinese prefer Apple iPhone more than Android smartphones and with Dual SIM functionality it might give tough competition to Chinese Android smartphone manufacturers in China and India too.
