Huawei a well-known networking and smartphone brand from China has now confirmed that they will launch the first 5G smartphone by mid-2019. Huawei CEO Eric Xu said that they are very much excited to bring the 5G enabled smartphones by June 2019.
Before making its entry into 5G devices Huawei wants to make chips and other hardware compatible with the new generation of connectivity. Huawei will launch devices based on 3GPP Release 16 specs which will be made official by end of this year and we can expect the launch by March next year.
With the implementation of 3GPP Release 16 one can connect with ultra-low latency bands for upcoming self-driving vehicle and remote surgery.
Anyway, with Huawei pushing its 5G smartphone launch to next year we can expect Samsung to beat the Chinese OEM and introduce the first 5G smartphone as early as Jan 2019 as per earlier reports.
