So Huawei is finally working on the successor to Kirin 659 SoC which will be named as Kirin 710 SoC which sounds like Huawei planning to confuse the user as we already have SD710 SoC from Qualcomm in the market.
As per the source, the upcoming Huawei Kirin 710 SoC will be built on 12nm process and will be based on Cortex A73 cores. It will be manufactured by TSMC. Apart from this nothing much about the chipset is known at the moment.
The new Huawei Kirin 710 SoC will be launched in July and will directly compete with SD710 SoC. In comparison with SD710 SoC, Huawei Kirin 710 SoC will lack behind as it is still using the older 12nm process when compared to 10nm. We already saw many devices launching with SD710 SoC such as Mi 8 SE, upcoming Vivo NEX, Nokia 7 Plus successor and even Google is working on a mid-range smartphone.
Whereas Huawei might launch the first smartphone powering the Kirin 710 SoC with Huawei Nova 3 which is expected to be launched in July with 19:9 aspect ratio display.
