After Qualcomm, we have two new patent infringement cases filed against Apple one is for the Dual camera on the iPhone X and other is for DND while driving which prevents the user from receiving text or making calls.
As per the case filing, first one is filed by Israel Company Corephotonics at Northern California District Court for using their Dual camera setup technology on the iPhone X and another one by Allied Signal at Eastern Texas District Court for DND while driving.
As per the filing by Corephotonics, Apple has used their patent dealing with Miniature Telephoto Lens Assembly which has been implemented in iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.As per the company, the telephoto lens used on iPhone X is smaller in size which makes it fit on the smartphone camera module and provides great images under different lighting condition.The company uses both the cameras on the rear to offer better digital and optical zoom.
As per filing by Allied Signal, Apple has infringed four of their patents and company deals with when a velocity of the device matches with the vehicle it automatically disables notification and other services but will allow messages which have marked urgent.It also automatically allow calls whose name is on the contact list or calls from an unknown number which have been received in short span of time and the user calls again it will be marked as urgent.All of these features were introduced in iOS11 last year and the company claims that four of the patents were infringed by Apple.
