Meizu has now launched a new mid-range smartphone with Meizu E3 to compete with the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in China.The Meizu E3 is priced at 1799 Yuan (Rs.18,550/-) for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant whereas 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at 1999 Yuan (Rs.20,600/-). The Meizu E3 will be available in Black, Champagne Gold, and Blue colors and will be up for pre-orders from March 26 and will go on sale from March 31 in China.
The new Meizu E3 is completely made out of metal and weighs around 160 grams. It is super slim at just 7.6 mm thick.The Meizu E3 features side mounted Super mBack Fingerprint scanner which also can be customized to perform a different action with the help of pressure sensor which is similar to HTC Edge sense.
The Meizu E3 sports 5.99 inches FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and having a resolution of 2160*1080p.It is covered with 2.5D curved glass on top.It is powered by the same chip one powering the Redmi Note 5 Pro with SD636 coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options which can be further expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
The Meizu E3 features a Dual rear camera with a primary sensor of Sony IMX362 12MP with an aperture of f/1.9 and pixel size of 1.4μm.The secondary telephoto lens is of 20MP using the Sony IMX350 sensor having an aperture of f/2.6, 2.5x loss-less zoom, Dual PD full-pixel dual-core focus, PDAF phase-focus and Dual Tone Dual LED flash.The front camera is of 8Mp with an aperture of f/2.0.The Dual rear camera’s lens is protected by Sapphire Glass and comes with double ISP image signal processor.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support (Hybrid Slot), Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, and USB Type-C port.The device is fueled by 3360 mAh battery with mCharge fast charging support. The Meizu E3 still runs on Android 7.1.2 with Flyme OS 6.3 on top.
