After series of leaks about upcoming Asus Zenfone 5 series to feature iPhone X like notch, we finally have the device officially launched in MWC 2018 held at Barcelona.Asus unveiled three new smartphones under Asus Zenfone 5 series with Asus Zenfone 5 Lite, Asus Zenfone 5 and Asus Zenfone 5Z.The Asus Zenfone 5 and Asus Zenfone 5Z will come in two colours with Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colours whereas the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will come in Midnight Black, Rouge Red and Moonlight White. The Asus Zenfone 5Z pricing starts from 479 Euros (Rs.38,200/-) and will go on sale from June whereas the Asus Zenfone 5 and Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will go on sale from April and March respectively and no pricing details have been shared by the company.

Asus Zenfone 5 Lite:

Asus launches latest mid-range smartphone the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite in MWC18 today. The new Asus Zenfone 5 Lite looks sturdy and is having metal and glass design covered with 2.5D curved glass.The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite weighs 168.3 grams.

The new Asus Zenfone 5 Lite comes with new 18:9 aspect ratio display with thinner bezels on the sides and thicker top and bottom bezels.The new Asus Zenfone 5 Lite sports 6.0 inches FHD+ display with 2.5D curved Glass on top with support for Glove touch.

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite comes in two options the cheaper variant is powered by SD430 SoC whereas the higher variant with SD630 SoC which is coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD cards up to 2TB.

The new Asus Zenfone 5 Lite comes with four cameras two at the front and remaining to on the rear of the device.The device features 16MP primary sensor on the back with an aperture of f/2.2, 0.03 sec PDAF, 3-Axis-EIS, with a secondary sensor having 120 degrees wide-angle lens with LED flash. The rear camera can shoot videos up to 4K only model that is powered by SD630 SoC.There is 20MP primary Sony IMX376 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and 3-Axis-EIS with a secondary sensor having 120 degrees wide-angle lens on the front.

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE, Dual Band Wifi(SD630)/ Wifi (SD430), Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, micro USB port and 3.5 mm audio port.It is fueled by 3300 mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 with Zen UI 5.0 on top and can be upgraded to Android Oreo later.

Asus Zenfone 5:

Finally, we have the latest mid-range smartphone from Asus with Asus Zenfone 5 launched in MWC 2018.The new Asus Zenfone 5 looks like iPhone X from the front with notch size is much smaller than the iPhone X.

The new Asus Zenfone 5 is made out of metal and glass and weighs lighter with just 155 grams. It is also super thin with just 7.7 mm thick.The new Asus Zenfone 5 sports 90% screen to body ratio with 6.2 inches FHD+ Super IPS AI display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 covered with 2.5D curved Glass and Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.It also comes with Gloves mode and has got 500 nits brightness with 95.4% NTSC Colour Gamut.The display uses AI to increase or reduce the brightness automatically based on background.

The Asus Zenfone 5 is the second smartphone after Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro to be powered by SD636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB storage option which can be expanded via microSD card up to 2TB.

The Asus Zenfone 5 features Dual rear camera which is aligned vertically. The device comes with the 12MP primary camera using Sony IMX363 Sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, a pixel size of 1.4 microns, 0.03s Tri-Tech AF, Dual Pixel PDAF, 4-Axis-OIS/EIS, with a secondary 8MP camera using OmniVision OV8856 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0, 120 degrees wide-angle lens coupled with dual tone Dual LED flash.

There is 8MP selfie camera using OmniVision OV8856 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0, 83 degrees wide-angle lens.It also comes with iPhone X like Animoji feature called ZeniMoji.
