OnePlus finally took off the curtains with OnePlus 5T in an event held in Brooklyn, New York.After series of leaks and rumors finally, OnePlus 5T is officially launched.OnePlus 5T is priced at Rs.32999/- for base 6GB+64GB storage variant and Rs.37,999/- for 8GB+128GB which has exactly the same pricing as OnePlus 5.It comes in Single color with Black color.
The OnePlus 5T will go on sale from November 21 in India, North America, and Europe.In India, OnePlus 5T is exclusive to Amazon in India and early access sale on Nov 21 at 4:30 PM will be exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers and OnePlus Experience Store.The OnePlus 5T will be available for all users from Nov 28 in both OnePlus Experience store and Amazon.The launch offer includes Rs.1500/- off for HDFC credit or debit card users.
OnePlus 5T is built out of Anodized Aluminium with an all-metal body and looks similar to Oppo R11s.It weighs 156 grams and is 7.3mm thick.Due to bezel-less display, the OnePlus 5T no longer comes with a physical home button which is replaced by on-screen navigation and the fingerprint scanner is now moved to the rear of the device below the camera module.
The major change, when compared with Oneplus 5, is in terms of the display, now OnePlus 5T sports 6.01 inches Optic AMOLED Sunlight display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and having a resolution of 1080*2160p.The display is covered with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.OnePlus 5T is using the same SD835 chip clocked at 2.45 GHz coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage.
Next change is with the secondary rear camera.With OnePlus 5T comes with improved Dual camera setup with a primary camera is wide angle lens of 16MP Sony IMX398 having an aperture of f/1.7, the pixel size of 1.12 microns, and the secondary camera act as telephoto lens of 20MP Sony IMX376K which is now having a larger aperture of f/1.7 when compared with f/2.6 on OnePlus 5 and pixel size of 1.0 microns with Dual LED flash.The selfie camera is unchanged with the same 16MP IMX371 sensor having an aperture of f/2.0 and pixel size of 1.0 microns.The rear camera can shoot videos up to 4K @30fps and selfie camera can record videos at 1080p @30fps.Now as Apple betting big with FaceID which made a debut on Apple iPhone X is now added on OnePlus 5T which comes with Face Unlock option via selfie camera.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE, Dual-band Wifi (2*2 MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, 3.5 mm audio port, and USB Type-C port. It comes with 3 Noise cancellation mics and also has support for AAC and Dirac Sound.
All this is fueled by 3300 mAh battery support for Dash charging.It runs on Android 7.1.1 with the latest version of Oxygen OS on top.The device will be upgraded to Android Oreo in coming months. OnePlus 5 will be updated to Android Oreo in early 2018.
