As per listing on TENAA, both the models MET7 & MEE7 have almost identical specs and sports bezel-less display having an aspect ratio of 18:9 and the only change is with colour and expected to be the upcoming successor to India’s no.1 selling smartphone Redmi Note 4 with Redmi Note 5.Earlier leaks showed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 having Dual camera setup but as per TENAA listing, it is having a single camera at the back of the device.
As per leaked images from TENAA, we have rounded corners of all the sides of the screen similar to last seen on LG Q6 and comes with nearly thin bezels.There are thick bezels above and below the display when compared with earlier leaks which had nearly thin bezels.Above the display, we have the selfie camera, earpiece and sensors and below the display, we have three capacitive navigation buttons.At the back, we have the Single Camera with Dual tone dual LED flash below it and fingerprint scanner below the LED flash.
As per TENAA, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will sport bigger 5.9 inches LCD display having a resolution of 2160*1080p (FHD+) with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The model number MET7 & MEE7 weighs 179.5 grams and are 8.05 mm thick.It will be completely built out of metal and comes in various colour options with Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Red, Blue, Pink, Silver and Grey.
The alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 MET7 & MEE7 will be powered by MediaTek Helio P25 chip or SD630/SD660 chip coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB storage options.It is having a 12MP rear camera with Dual tone dual LED flash and there is 5MP selfie camera.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE, Dual Band Wifi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, GLONASS, IR Blaster and microSD card slot (Hybrid Slot).All this is fueled with 4000 mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.2 with MIUI 9.0 out of the box.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with 3GB+16GB is priced at 999 Yuan (Rs.9999/-), 3GB+32GB version is priced at 1299 Yuan (Rs.13,000/-) and 4GB+64GB version is priced at 1699 Yuan (Rs.17,000/-).As of now, there are no details for Indian launch and availability.
