After leaks which showed up the Google upcoming PixelBook and now Google officially launched it in the US yesterday.It is the first laptop from Google having convertible tech like you can turn it to a laptop or as a tablet which we saw on some Lenovo Yoga series Windows laptops earlier.
The Google PixelBook is super slim at just 10.3 mm thick and weighs 1.1 kgs.It is completely built out of Aluminium unibody and looks like traditional Laptop design.It comes in a single colour with Silver.Google PixelBook comes with 12.3 inches QHD LCD touchscreen display having a resolution of 2400 x 1600p with an support for Google PixelBook Pen.It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Google PixelBook is powered by 7th Gen Intel i5 or i7 CPU based on configuration.It is coupled with 8GB/16GB RAM and comes in 128GB/256GB/512GB SSD storage options which also supports new NVME.The connectivity option includes Dual-band Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, 2 x USB Type-C ports, 3.5 mm Audio Port and comes with backlight full-size keyboard with dedicated Google Assistant key.It also has edge to edge trackpad for navigation which is made up of the etched glass surface.It has a front-facing webcam which has support for video recording up to 720p @60fps.It also comes with a range of sensors like Gyroscope sensor, Accelerometer, Magnetometer and Hall Effect sensor.
The special feature of the Google PixelBook is the tiltable screen which can be rotated up to 180 degrees and even work like a tablet.As per Google, the PixelBook comes with usage time up to 10 hours on single charge.It is fueled with 41 Whr battery and support for Fast charging.The Google PixelBook is powered by Chrome OS and has support for Google Play Store.The Google PixelBook also comes with instant tether if you lose your Wifi Signal then this feature comes handy if you own a Pixel smartphone which has mobile data.
Google also launched a separate accessory for the Google PixelBook with PixelBook Pen made by Wacom.The PixelBook Pen has a latency of just 10 milliseconds with 60 degrees of angular awareness and comes with pressure sensitivity levels of 2000.The Google PixelBook Pen is priced at $99 and the Google PixelBook is price starts from $999 (Rs.66,000/-)for Core i5 7th gen with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD, $1199 (Rs.77,000/-) for Core i5 7th gen with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD and no pricing for Core i7 7th gen with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Google PixelBook is up for pre-orders in the US. No word on pricing and availability in India.
