Apple iPhone 8 will no longer have the multi-function Home button instead will now have Gestures to control the device. There will be a thin software bar found at the bottom of the screen where one has to swipe up to unlock the device. When you are inside an app the same action will launch the multitasking screen which is again redesigned on iOS 11 to appear like stand alone cards that can be swiped through instead of a stack of cards on earlier iPhone. If you continue the same motion upward drag will close the app which you are using and will be taken back to Home Screen.
Now the Home Screen will have six rows and will show 24 icons on each page.Below these icons, we can find the App dock with a gray bar at the bottom will show the frequently used apps. The UI is similar to what we found on iPads running iOS 11.
At the top of the screen, we can find the earpiece, Sensors and front-facing camera cut-out which will not be the hidden in software but will show the network and other icons on the left and right side of the screen. As the iPhone 8 is using OLED panel, using black we can make the notch disappear. Some apps which are having white background will use the left and right part of the earpiece screen. The status bar will be split into left and right areas, as the position where previously used to display time will now show the Wifi and cellular connectivity and remaining part will show the battery indicator and other icons. The status bar will change based on the app used.
The upcoming iPhone 8 OLED screen made by Samsung will not be having curved display instead will have the flat display. The frame will be made out of Stainless Steel and will have the glass back. The steel frame will now have all the antenna bands on the corners.
As per earlier leaks, iPhone 8 will be having larger 5.8 inches display when compared to 5.5 inches on iPhone 7 Plus and will be having similar dimension one found on iPhone 7 due to it is having a nearly bezel-less display. The power button will be located on the right side of the device.
